i had battery problems a few weeks ago and sorted it but the battery im using is old and im having to constantly recharge it on a night ready for the arduous task of starting up the following day. the battery just isnt charging as im driving to work on the morning with lights, heater and radio on and the same during the night.
Im going to invest in a new battery but i dont know the best one to get. I hear that you can get a Peugeot 306 diesel battery that fits in the battery box nice and snug. \If so what age/mark am i looking at?
Is it better to get a battery made for a diesel?
Advice ASAP would be great as i want to get a battery at the weekend.
Thanks. Dave

My battery is amazing; will turn the engine over for ages if necessary, even when cold & wet (like the day my coil died!) It even started straight up after a 4-month layup.
It's an 068, which is specified for the Toyota Previa among others; I first fitted it as we had broken a Previa and I had a pocketed engine with huge compression. It handled that a treat.
It's a very snug fit in the battery box - I put a piece of old seat belt webbing under it to get it out easily, and it is slightly tall, but does still fit under the battery cover. Thoroughly recommended.

Checked out the specs at
http://www.carbatteryshop.co.uk/sc-Numax-Car-Batteries-I219.html; it seems that the 072 shades my 068 by a couple of Amp/hours, but an extra 45 cold-cranking amps. It's the same size.
Looks like the 072 is the strongest battery you can get to fit in the battery box.

was it miles off or was it just a tad too big. because on most batterys they have the lips at the base which u can file back flat(dont go too far back!) and i managed to make my battery fit.
