Dashboard Conversion

hiiiii, just taken out the walnut dash and come across a small box, to me it looks like an ECU butim realy not sure, had a quick look in the haynes manual but cant find anything about it, could anyone tell me what its purpose is. also i converting to the centre dials and was wondering what kind of material to use to cover all the electrics both on the bulk head and also the bottom above the heater

I assume you have an MPi, it which case It's the Lucas 5AS alarm ECU.

Haynes is rubbish, get yourself a copy of the Rover RAVE CD....

i would second that i have an imobiliser box right next to my 2 clock setup. but i own a 93 sprite carbed version.

earlier ones it's the 3AS alarm (single button fob), later ones its the 5AS (two button fob)
