No, not a GT, but it's a 1275 with 80bhp, a 1275GT engine with the GT close ratio box. Goes well. Revolutions, Cobra buckets, nice dash, she has the interior well designed....just hope it's reliable! The car is a 1977 model, the girl is a 1991 model.... :)

Oh good god. You've done it now wingcommander. Adam is prob more excited than Kitty or Will now. A young person of the female persuasion who drives a clubby. Pretty yet mouthy (your words jeff, not mine) sounds like a perfect match

Good job both fathers are going along as well

It seems like we could have a 1991 group at this rate, seeing as Adam, Nikita, Claire and Chris are all 1991 models  Have to admit we have two 1994's coming along too - weren't we a busy lot back then

Well, in an effort to fix the wheel wobble on Nikita's car, I have today replaced both inner pot joints, fitted new negative camber bottom arms and new standard bushes, and also fitted new adjustable uprated tie bars with new poly bushes. I am going to test drive the car tomorrow, and I hope I've fixed the problem. If not, then on Monday, I'll be fitting replacement new standard rear mounts on the front subframe. Then I'll have the tracking checked again, and if all is well, I will only have the main beam warning light to fix to make the car ready...I'm knackered now, so I am off to have a shower and spruce up!

Jeff, are you satisfied the tyres are round, and more especially not S-shaped when viewed from the front as they rotate? I have suffered with this twice, a 10-inch Firestone years ago and a 10-inch obscure eastern/oriental brand more recently.

The first time it confounded me for weeks; I changed all the usual suspects like you. Now it is something I check earlier in the process. But it can happen.

Well, where do I start? I have moved the wheels front to back, I have had them rebalanced again. I have tried two different wheels and tyre types on the front, The car has been tracked twice. I have changed the hubs, driveshafts, including CVs, track rod ends, and most recently the bottom arms and tie bars and all bushes are brand new. There is no play in wheel bearings and no play in top and bottom ball joints. Maybe it's all too tight. Well, tomorrow I test drive to see if the bottom arms and pot joints have made any difference.

Pot joints replace, no difference. Replaced rear front subframe mounts with standard rubber mounts, slight improvement. Now there is a smooth spot - before 70 mph and after about 80mph. 90mph is really smooth....but I guess just under 70mph will suit the car best!

what was wrong with the car in the first place then? #-o

Juddering? :?:

It frustrates me when i have something wrong and you gotta take the car apart just to find a problem and once everything is back together there is no difference.. but i guess thats a mini, they are always on going! haha..

Starts to shake at 70mph. Just had new front subframe, newish engine and box, all new poly bushes, new track rod ends, all balanced, tracking done twice, it's so unfair! Anyway, she goes as she is!
