What is inside the boot, picture please

Postby 2kwrx on Sat 31st Jul 2010, 09:00pm

Hi All,

WE just bought a 1977 Mini Leyland, and the boot is empty. No spare wheel, boot liner, carpet or anything. Yesterday I made a boot liner from some thin MDF board and cut some carpet to size but it looks like on the right hand side there may have been some sort of interior construction to form a wall or something? Can someone please show some photo's of what the inside of the boot should look like so I know what we need to try and get.

Thanks team :D

Well there is a spare wheel sits in the bottom, a battery with a flimsy cardboard cover, a jack and wheel brace in a plastic bag.

Then a scabby bit of matting to chuck over the top, that's it for an early car! There wasn't a lot else from the factory.

Earlier Cooper models came with a false floor, to cover the wheel etc, but they deleted those by the 70's.

Someone may have made a boot liner up before, but there wasnt anything on the right from new, just the wheel arch and the back of the tail lamp.
